Accessibility Statement

An honest account of what's built for accessibility today, and where we still have work to do.

1. Our commitment

Toolkitties is meant to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, or rely on their browser's zoom, high-contrast, or reduced-motion settings. We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as a working standard, not a one-time checklist β€” this page describes what's actually in place today.

2. What's built in today

  • A β€œSkip to content” link on every page lets keyboard users jump straight past the navigation to the main content.
  • Every page follows a real heading structure β€” one H1, then properly nested H2/H3 sections β€” rather than styled text standing in for headings.
  • File-upload areas are fully keyboard-operable (Tab to focus, Enter or Space to open the file picker), not just clickable with a mouse.
  • Interactive controls carry proper ARIA roles and labels, including icon-only buttons, dialogs, and the search results list.
  • Body text meets WCAG AA contrast requirements against its background (our standard secondary text color sits at roughly a 6:1 contrast ratio, above the 4.5:1 minimum).
  • Animations respect your operating system's β€œreduce motion” setting, and the site works with JavaScript disabled for anyone whose assistive technology needs that.
  • Focus is always visible β€” every interactive element shows a clear outline when you tab to it.

3. Where we fall short

This is an honest account, not a certificate: some of the 66+ tools involve genuinely visual tasks β€” cropping an image, drawing a signature, reordering PDF pages by dragging β€” where a fully equivalent screen-reader workflow is harder to build and we haven't finished that work everywhere. We'd rather say that plainly than claim full compliance we haven't verified tool by tool.

4. Tell us what's not working

If you hit a barrier anywhere on Toolkitties β€” a tool that doesn't work with your screen reader, a control you can't reach by keyboard, low contrast somewhere we missed β€” we want to know. Email ahsanaliclaude@gmail.com with the page and what happened, and we'll look into it.
